We select places to stay in authentic, natural, historic and less-travelled areas of Portugal.

Our holiday properties are in areas with olive groves and vineyards, cork oaks and black bulls, rugged mountains and bucolic rivers. Others are close to long empty beaches and top-notch surfing spots, or within castle walls and historic quarters.

Staying at one of our listed properties, you’ll have the chance to explore the lovely Portuguese countryside and visit farmer markets. Try local cuisine in rustic family-run restaurants. Enjoy summer festivals and country fairs. Walk around fortified villages and medieval towns.

Our selected range of accommodation in the Portuguese countryside includes farmhouses and manor estates, known here as quintas, solares and herdades. We also find and recommend rustic stone cottages and spacious contemporary villas. Not to forget yurts and safari tented accommodation, as well as intimate guest houses and boutique hotels!

Properties we choose are charming and full of character, ranging from the rustic to the refined. Many have lovely views and gardens, set in scenic and tranquil spots in the countryside and on the coast. They’re close to the best of the great outdoors and sporting pursuits. For culture vultures, we also offer vacation properties in the ancient quarters of cities such as Porto and Lisbon, or in small historic towns and villages, where life is slow-paced, provincial and traditional.

We help travellers find these special places. Our selection of properties is limited in number, carefully chosen and fitting in style. Useful information and photographs for each region and different subjects (outdoor sporting pursuits, culture etc) work as a guide. Travellers can also register for free, to save favourite properties, write reviews and much more.

There's a lot to see in Portugal and so many beautiful and authentic areas. We hope you’ll come and visit soon!
