Situated in the village of Aldeia das Dez, by the Serra da Estrela mountains, a 6 hectare Quinta country estate, with a 17th century farmhouse. Tastefully restored into a beautiful hotel with 21 bedrooms and 4 self-catering apartments for groups and families. Interiors are cosy and classic, with granite walls, wooden flooring, woolen carpets, antique furnishings and fireplaces. Outside are gardens, a pool and magnificent views of the mountains. It also has a small wellness centre with sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi and massage facilities. The João Brandão restaurant serves local and regional specialities. There is easy access to Coimbra, the coast and historical towns of the area. All rooms and apartments are decorated in a unique style and all have modern amenities such as heating, wifi and tvs. This is a good base for exploring this mountainous and authentic area of central Portugal, with villages, waterfalls, walking trails, horse-riding and nature in abundance.

"This gem of a hotel is in stunning surroundings. The grounds and decor have so much charm and character, as do the owners and staff running the hotel. "We stayed at this Rural Hotel for two nights. The room was nicely decorated, cosy and very comfortable with a super view over the mountains. In fact the whole hotel was beautifully decorated. We do not normally eat in the hotels we stay at, but we broke tradition and certainly ate at this one. The food was delicious, well presented, and extremely tasty. The breakfast was particularly good. The Hotel is set in a beautiful location, with gardens to walk through, and a good sized pool, a little chilly but great to swim in.
